Receive Item Units

There are multiple ways to add new item units to track into the system.

  • Create Unit. Use this option to add a single item unit. This is a simple entry form.
  • Receive New Unit. Use to receive items owned by customers or for adding multiple item units. This transaction supports the ability to take custody at receiving of item units that are owned by another team.
  • PO Receiving. Use this transaction to receive item units against purchase order data.

Receive New Unit

The Receive New Unit transaction can be completed from the portal or the mobile app. Transaction attributes can be set up to capture additional attributes for the transaction.

Receiving Header (Information)

  1. Received From. OPTIONAL. Select the Vendor or Customer that the items are being received from. If the items are received from a customer, the customer will automatically be assigned as the owner. If the items are received from a vendor, ownership will be based on the item setup rule for ownership. If not recording receipt from either a vendor or a customer, this field can be skipped.
  2. Received For. REQUIRED.
    • When a Vendor is selected as the Received From or if the field is skipped; then enter the team the item is being received for. Note that most often this will be the team you are logged in under. When team ownership is tracked on the items received, the Received For team will be the team assigned as the owner of the unit.
    • When a customer is selected as Received From, the customer team will automatically default, and the field will be set as read-only. The customer team is assigned ownership.

3. Receipt Date. Defaults to current date but can be changed.

4. For Project. If the items are being received for a specific project, enter the project assignment. The project will be assigned to the items received. Use the Allocate to Project to update the project assignment if needed.

Receive Items

  • Item Master. Select the items to receive by the item master. If the item master does not exist, then create a new item master by selecting the add button on the right of the Item Master field.

  • Enter Item Details
    • Quantity Tracked. If the item is setup to track by a quantity, then enter the quantity to receive.
      • Enter the data for any unit attribute fields displayed (based on the item setup).
    • Serial Tracked. If the item is setup to track by serial, then enter the unique Handle for the unit.
      • Enter the data for any unit attribute fields displayed (based on the item setup). After the first handle is received, the item master will remain defaulted along with any unit attributes setup to default for adding multiple units for the item master.
  • Placed In. Receive to an Area or a Container
    • Items can be received to a serialized movable container. A new container can be created on-the-fly.
    • When a container is entered for the Placed In field, the container will remain defaulted for serial tracked items until the next item is entered or it is manually changed.

The list of the items received during the receipt session will be listed to the right (on portal) or in the review tab (on mobile).

Use the [Clear] button to clear the transaction to start a new transaction or simply exit the transaction.

Create Unit

Use this transaction for an add entry of a unit. If ownership is being tracked for the unit, the owner assigned will be the team you are logged in under. None of the field values entered will remain defaulted. If adding multiple units for the same item master, it is recommended to use the Receive New Unit transaction.

PO Receiving

This transaction receives against purchase orders that have been entered or synchronized to PanatrackerST. The quantities received will be updated on the purchase order.
