This transaction is designed to re-assign a new Handle ID for an existing serialized unit. This would typically only need to be completed if the original handle tag was lost or missing on the unit itself. This transaction has multiple filtering option to be able to find the correct record to record to update.
Filter by Template.
Option to select an item template to reduce the number of records in the selection. When selected, all UNIT attributes defined for the template will be enabled for additional filtering options.
Filter by Item Master.
As another filtering option, the item master can be selected. The same as the template, the corresponding UNIT attributes will be enabled for additional filtering options.
Filtering Attributes
The option to enter in additional filtering attributes to locate the record is available. Often selection of the unit’s serial number or an alternate asset tag ID that is often unique in the system can make finding the item record easier. Once there is a SINGLE matching unit identified as part of the filtering process, the Handle will automatically be populated.
Handle
The handle to replace can be entered at any point, even without the filters applied.
New Unit Handle
Once the Handle to replace is selected, the new handle assignment can then be entered.
