About PanatrackerGP

PanatrackerGP is a mobile solution that uses the Microsoft Dynamics GP database as the host database. Transactions are captured and when submitted, create the corresponding transaction in Dynamics GP in the same way as if it was entered through the GP interface. The advantage of PanatrackerGP is that the transactions can be captured when they occur with the ability to use barcode scanning in a simplified interface.

Do I need to be setup as a user in GP to use PanatrackerGP?

No. An advantage of using PanatrackerGP to capture your inventory transactions is the ability to remove the need for your warehouse or stockroom employees to login into Dynamics GP. It allows segregation of doing inventory-related transactions from the financial infrastructure.

Can I also post the transactions in GP from PanatrackerGP?

PanatrackerGP will create (or update) transactions in GP and assign the transaction to a Batch ID for later posting. PanatrackerGP does not support automated posting from mobile devices. There are automated posting solutions available in the market to add to GP. The advantage of controlling your posting logic through an automated posting solution is the ability to control what transactions to include. For example, you may want to automatically post receiving transactions, but may want an audit for adjustment transactions; therefore, those can be set up to post manually in GP. Some of the automated posting solutions can be set up to automatically post based on Batch ID. Therefore, if you add a new user, you can assign a different Batch ID that isn’t part of the automated posting step so that additional audits can be done.
