How PanatrackerGP Works With Your Dynamics GP

PanatrackerGP sits on top of your Dynamics GP to make data collection and management of your inventory as efficient and easy as possible.  Administratively, PanatrackerGP operates as a website portal and web services hosted within IIS (Internet Information Server).  IIS is usually already installed and active on your server. If not installed, please consult with your IT provider.

The transactional software is installed on your handheld mobile computer devices.  To enter transactions such as receiving inventory or issuing inventory, you will use the handheld mobile computers exclusively using the barcode scanning function along with PanatrackerGP.  Configuration information and transactions gathered by the Panatracker software on the handheld mobile computer devices are stored within a database on the same SQL Server that holds your Dynamics GP databases.  Other than the rare occasion that you need to access the online configuration portal to change settings, all users will access PanatrackerGP solely through the handheld scanning devices.

Installation on the Dynamics GP Server

We normally install our software on the same server as your Dynamics GP database. Our application footprint is light, and you should see little or no performance impact on your server. We require less than 50 MB of disk space for the PanatrackerGP server software.

Installation on a Separate Server

If needed, we can install PanatrackerGP on a different server, but we must know this in advance of Installation Day.  Please note that the installation of Microsoft’s eConnect in this instance is a little more complicated due to the need to establish a domain-based security account for eConnect to communicate across machines.  Details are available from your Dynamics GP Partner or within the eConnect installation guide from Microsoft.
