Add Inventory (Adjustment)

Standard Data Capture

The Add Inventory creates an GP Inventory Transaction Entry for a positive adjustment to add new inventory. Common uses for this transaction includes adding to inventory outside of a manufacturing process or PO receiving. It is also used to record returns of inventory from jobs or services (integrated with Key2Act).

Site
The site can be defaulted based on a profile level setting. Otherwise, the user will select the Site the items will be added.

Bin
When using multiple bin tracking, identify the bin to add in the inventory. The Bin look up list is filtered based on the Site selected.

Item
Scan or select the item to add. The item must be set up for the site in GP to be available to add.

UOM
The base unit of measure for the item will be defaulted. The UOM field can be enabled through a setting to support adding inventory in a different unit of measure. The transaction is created in GP in the UOM entered and the posting of the transaction in GP handles the calculation back to the base UOM the item is setup to be tracked.

Quantity
Enter the quantity to add when the item is quantity-tracked.

If the item is LOT tracked, then enter the Lot and Lot Quantity to add. Any of the additional lot attributes enabled will be presented. These include Manufacturer Date, Expire Date, and the 5 user definable lot attributes that can be setup in GP.

If the item is SERIAL tracked, capture the corresponding serial numbers.

Other Setup Options

Reason Code field can be enabled. To use reason code assignment, at least one reason code must be setup for an adjustment type to Increase the quantity.

Item Class Code. This enables the ability to filter items based on an item class code. The original design was to support the ability to scan a manufacturer’s item number stored against the GP Item Code when there may be multiple GP items associated under different class codes. It was originally used for managing customer-owned inventory.

Job Tracking Add In (under Job and Project Settings) supports the ability to enable the fields to capture Key2Act Job and Service data which is then populated on the modified Transaction Entry in GP when Key2Act is installed.
