Converting from PanatrackerGP Version 6 to 7

Conversion from Version 6 to 7 PanatrackerGP

Customer Requirements: 

  1. If there is label printing, Customer needs to provide printer name and model
  2. Directed Transfer customers need to add new columns to the tools they’re using to update the Directed Transfer table, the Directed Transfer Table is also in a new location
  3. Double Check GP Upgrade version

Panatrack Requirements:

  1. Assess what the customer has been licensed for and what they have been promised to make sure they get the proper license
  2. Provide release notes or prepare training for new features
  3. Verify if they are upgrading DynamicsGP at the same

At the time of installation:

  1. Move the V6 portal to a different port (This should only be done if completely confident V7 upgrade, no testing needed)
  2. Copy the V6 database to a V7 name
  3. Run Installer and install V7 on original port and set it to the V7 database. (This should only be done if completely confident V7 upgrade, no testing needed)
  4. Run all scripts especially synonyms
  5. Licensing
    1. Log into their portal, go to Diagnostics – Support – Create Usage Data File
    2. Paste text from the file into the License Maker Usage Utility Output field
    3. Click Load Data
    4. Compare Licensed Features to what they are licensed for and update as needed
    5. Load license as usual
  6. Set up Label Printing
    1. Go to the portal, under Configure – Label printers
    2. Set up all printers
