Reason Codes with PanatrackerGP

Reason codes are new in Dynamics GP 2013, so Panatrack has provided a way to use this feature through your handheld.  Reason codes are also available for previous versions of Dynamics GP, but they are not configured in Dynamics GP and are not used when the transaction is submitted unless a custom post eConnect procedure is used.

To set up reason codes in Dynamics GP 2013:

1. Open Inventory > Setup > Reason Code Setup
2. Enter or select a reason code
3. Verify that the Inactive check box is not checked
4. If Add or Remove Inventory will be used, check the Adjustment check box, and select Increase Only (Add Inventory Only), Decrease Only (Remove Inventory Only), or Increase and Decrease (Add and Remove Inventory).
5. If this reason code is to be used on Site Transfer, then check the Item Transfer check box.
6. If this reason code is to be used on Item Bin Move and Bin Transfer, then check the Item Bin Transfer check box.
7. Save the reason code.

To use reason codes from Dynamics GP in PanatrackerGP:

Identify the transactions you would like to use with reasons codes, the options are:

• Add and Remove Inventory
• Item Bin Move – Moving one item at a time from one bin to another at the same site (Requires multi-bins to be enabled)
• Bin Transfer – Moving everything that is located in one bin to another bin. (Also requires multi-bins to be enabled)
• Site Transfer – Moving items from one site to another site.

The reason location settings you will work with are:

• ReasonsForAdjustmentFromLocation (Add and Remove Inventory)
• ReasonsForBinMoveFromLocation (Item Bin Move and Bin Transfer)
• ReasonsForTransferFromLocation (Site Transfer)

The options are: Panatracker and DynamicsGP.

• Dynamics GP will pull the reason codes from Dynamics GP and submit them to Dynamics GP when the transaction is complete.
• Panatracker will pull the reason codes configured in the Panatracker Portal and will be submitted as additional data on the transaction when it is submitted to Dynamics GP.

The entry option settings you will work with are:

• ReasonsForAdjustment (Add and Remove Inventory)
• ReasonsForBinMove (Item Bin Move)
• ReasonsForBinTransfer (Bin Transfer)
• ReasonsForTransfer (Site Transfer)

The options are: Required, Optional, and Disabled.

• Required – the user will not be able to skip this field without a valid reason code.
• Optional – the user will either enter in a valid reason code or can leave this field blank.
• Disabled – the reason code field will not be visible on the screen.
