This transaction creates a GP Transaction Entry for negative adjustments. This transaction is used for multiple purposes.
- General adjustment of inventory for damaged or expired inventory.
- Issue of inventory to departments. This is typically set up with Reason Code assignments as the adjustment reason codes support assignment of an offset account.
- Issue of inventory to Key2Act jobs and services
Standard Process
Site
This can be set as a default based on a profile setting. This will be the Site the inventory is removed from.
Item
Scan or select the item to adjust out of inventory. Items with a quantity in the site will be available to select from.
Bin
When multi-bins is enabled, select the bin to remove the inventory from. Bin look up includes the quantity on hand and available for the item selected.
UOM
The item base unit of measure will be defaulted. The option to select a different unit of measure is available based on a profile setting option. The transaction will be created in GP with the selected UOM. The posting of the transaction in GP will then calculate the quantity removed to the base unit of measure.
Quantity
Enter the quantity to adjust for quantity-tracked inventory.
If the item is tracked by LOT, then select the lot and the lot quantity to adjust out.
If the item is tracked by SERIAL, then scan the serials to remove.
Other Setting Options
Reason Code field can be enabled and set to optional or required to be captured for the adjustment. If using this feature, be sure at least one reason code is setup in GP for adjustments and decrease quantity.
Item Class Codes can be enabled to support filtering items based on the class code. This was originally designed to be used in management of customer-owned inventory where the barcode (manufacturer’s) item numbers being scanned matched multiple GP item codes. By applying the filter, the customer-specific items were filtered in the list.
Job Tracking Add In under the Job and Project settings support the ability enable Key2Act Job and Service fields for issue functionality.
